Casey Hough

Lead Pastor

Casey and his family began ministry at Copperfield Church in June 2019. Prior to his ministry at Copperfield, Casey served as a lead pastor, a music minister, and a student minister at various times in different churches throughout Arkansas and Louisiana. Above everything, Casey is passionate about God’s glory in the church. He believes that God desires to see all people come to a saving knowledge of Jesus, who laid down His life for sinners to be redeemed and made new. God receives glory in the church when disciples of Jesus are being made in and through the power of the Holy Spirit. Glorifying God by making disciples of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit is Casey’s purpose and passion in this world.

The fulfillment of Casey’s purpose starts in his home, which consists of his wife, Hannah, and their five children (Carter, Jude, Weston, Eden, and Willow). The Hough’s love welcoming guests into their home for fellowship, food, and good coffee. When they are not at a football field, baseball park, or a basketball gym and have a little spare time, they also enjoy working on DIY projects around the house. The Hough household, as one would imagine, is full of excitement, sound, and energy. There are no dull moments unless everyone is asleep (including all the animals). But the Hough family is not perfect. In fact, far from it. They need the daily provision of God’s grace in Christ to make it, and He is always faithful to provide just exactly what they need in His perfect timing.

As for an educational background, Casey holds a B.G.S. in Computer Applications from Louisiana Tech University, an M.Div. in Biblical Languages, a Th.M. in Biblical Interpretation from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) and a Ph.D. in Biblical Interpretation from NOBTS with minors in theology and in ethics. He wrote his dissertation on the relationship between Zechariah 8 and the book of Ephesians under the supervision of Dr. Charles Ray and Dr. Norris Grubbs.

In addition to his formal education, Casey also actively writes for various evangelical outlets, serving primarily as an Associate Research Fellow and Religious Liberty Channel Editor for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. He is a fellow in St. Peter Fellowship of the Center for Pastor Theologians.

In addition to his role at Copperfield, Casey serves as an Assistant Professor of Biblical Interpretation at Luther Rice College and Seminary. Casey also teaches Old Testament, New Testament, Comparative Religions, and Philosophy at South Arkansas University Tech.
