RJ Knapp
Worship Arts Pastor
The Lord drew RJ to Himself as a freshman in college through the worship arts—Christian choral music, a book by C.S. Lewis, and a movie about Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. It has become RJ’s passion to help encourage God’s people to meet with him in a way that is meaningful, wholehearted, and transformational. He is thankful for the Lord’s good and perfect plan that led him to the Copperfield community to help this great church minister to the Lord and to one another. And from the bottom of his heart, he is deeply grateful to the Lord for his family, including his wife, Kayse, and their four children—Bethanny, Suzanne, Michael, and Jordan.
RJ has a B.M. in Commercial Music from Belmont University, an M.A. in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston Law Center, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Ministry Leadership from Liberty University. He is also an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas concentrating in estate planning and probate.
Apart from building Legos and drawing with his boys, learning choreography and singing duets with his daughters, and celebrating his wife’s fabulous cooking and baking, RJ loves to play and write music, read, play video games, disc golf, and develop vocal impressions.
