What is baptism?
Baptism is the believer's public declaration of faith in Christ for salvation through immersion under water. All throughout the New Testament, baptism is associated with a believer's initial act of faith and conversion.
In baptism, we are declaring through obedience and submission to Christ that we are trusting in Him alone for the cleansing of our sins, that we belong exclusively to Him, and that we are members of His Body, the church.
