EYES ON ME

Who We Are...

Over the past 12 years, the ministry Bobby “Tre9” Herring launched, Eyes On Me Inc, has grown into an organization that focuses on making reproducible disciples in some of the most poverty-stricken communities around the Greater Houston area. By establishing mission centers in these under-served communities with on-site missionaries, offering basic needs services and providing programs that teach local residents about Jesus Christ, Eyes On Me is able to help transform lives and fulfill its mission to mentor, disciple and serve at-risk youth and their familiesGoals or objectives for the next 12 months.  Financial support is used to fund these programs, community centers and church plants.  Whether it is meeting benevolence needs in these communities, renting a local missions center for our missionaries to live, starting a new program to impact lives or taking hundreds of youth to summer camp, there is always a need for financial support.  With the generosity of churches, individuals, businesses, and foundations, we have been able to establish our ministry in five neighborhoods where evangelism and discipleship is transforming the community.

HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED IN THIS MINISTRY:

The best way to plug into the ministry is to visit www.EyesOnMeInc.com and complete a volunteer application.  We need volunteers for outreaches, mentoring youth and families, goals coaching, prayer walking, special community projects, teaching bible studies and other areas that involve evangelism, discipleship, house church planting and leadership development.  We also have a community center in Brookshire, TX that we need laborers for construction, gardening, cleaning, painting and other general maintenance from time to time.  Your prayers for Eyes On Me are also appreciated.  Please pray for the safety of our team and our ability to reach entire communities with the Gospel message and love of Jesus.

WAYS TO PRAY FOR OUR MINISTRY:
  • Send us more Backyard Missionaries to move into these areas and live missionary.
  • Our staff’s ability to be efficient and effective as a team
  • The people we serve to be receptive to the message and to respond in a way that leads to discipleship and joining the body of Christ.
  • The churches we plant to multiply into more areas
  • God to provide financially for our program needs
  • The children in our communities to be able to overcome the darkness surrounding them and to be influenced by the message we bring.
  • More leaders and laborers willing to mobilize into these areas to make disciples long term.

Tre9 ~ Founder

There once was a white boy from the Northside inner-city streets of Houston, TX who fell in love with Hip Hop culture at 11 years of age.  Throughout his Jr. High and High School years he wrote and recorded explicit raps with the hopes of making it big as a rapper someday.  A year after graduating High School, Bobby Herring aka Tre9 found himself a saved man with a new mission, to rap for Jesus.  From 1996-2008, he rapped in schools, prisons, church youth groups, at overseas mission trips and in many inner city streets amongst the most under-served people groups. By 2008, Copperfield church ordained him and supported his vision to reach the streets of 5th Ward aka The Bloody Nickel in Houston, TX.  He launched out as an urban/hip hop missionary and began focusing on discipleship and church planting in an urban context, while keeping the orality ministry of rapping to win souls at the forefront.  There's nothing that excites him more than to help someone come out of the streets and into the Disciple the Streets brotherhood and sisterhood, which he formed in 2016.  Now he spends his days and nights planning hip hop block parties to reach those far from God, discipling the people in their communities, planting backyard missionaries in Houston hoods, connecting people to spiritual mentors and launching simple organic churches in their homes and apartment club houses.  Although he is no longer producing his own rap records, he is very involved in mentoring rap artists who are seeking to be on mission for God.  When artists ask Tre9 if he can drop a feature on their song, his response is simple, "Send me the beat and I got ya!'  It's obvious the love for rap music is still a big part of his evangelism efforts to save souls.  Learn more about Tre9’s organization (501c3 non-profit), Eyes On Me Inc, by visiting our website.
